We would love you to join us on this seed saving adventure – and there’s plenty of scope to get involved or help out.
Our seeds
We produce an annual seed catalogue in late winter. Our seeds are available in exchange for donations from a stall at Stroud Farmers market and at local events in late winter and early spring. Keep an eye out here or on Facebook for updates! We are very happy to have people help pack up seeds around mid-winter time.
Upcoming events
We run occasional seed saving workshops, film screenings and garden visits, which are usually advertised here, on social media and even on real world noticeboards.
Donating seed
If you have grown some seed this year and would like to donate it to the seed bank, we would be delighted to hear from you. We ask that all seed donations are accompanied by this Seed Donation Form 2017, so that we can keep track of who has donated what and describe the seed accurately in our catalogue.
Seed Guardians
We are particularly keen to recruit more seed guardians to help us scale up the seed bank and grow more seed locally – and anyone can do it!
Seed guardians grow one or two crops for seed in their own gardens or allotments, and donate that seed to the seed bank. We offer ongoing email and phone support and the chance to be part of a growing community. In spring we hold a briefing or training session for seed guardians and in autumn we come together for a harvest meal with swapping of seeds and stories from the year. In between we offer ongoing phone and email support, some sort of summer social, and the chance to be part of a growing community. Get in touch if you’d like to know more!
