February 2025

Our seeds are ready…soon!

Fresh seeds from 2024 have been gathered together with our 3 year programme seeds into our packets to distribute to the Stroud area again this year.

Please see our online catalogue at Down to Earth website and each location has as paper copy to look through:

5 dedicated Seed guardians look after our 5 locations in the community and they will be in place in the next 2 weeks!

1/ Horsley Community Shop: Heather, Jane and David

2/ Chalford Community Shop: Sally

3/ Whiteshill and Ruscombe Village Shop: Carla and Milly

To be sorted:

4/ The Long Table, Brimscombe: Fran

5/ Loose Shop, High St, Town Centre, (Plastic Free shop): Jackie

An extra box of seeds are available for The Farmers Market Stall and any talks in the community.

Sally often takes seeds to her garden talks which are well received and bring attention to the vital need to save seeds.

Please join our adventure of locally saved seeds and tell others about them.

It is illegal to sell saved seeds, so we ask for a donation from those who can to help keep the seedbank going.

We are all volunteers, but there are material costs to meet.

Our Locations have been holding our seeds for 5 years now and all are so pleased to see us, it is very heartwarming!

These shops are often run by volunteers and are vital to their communities, so their enthusiasm for our packets is very encouraging and mutually beneficial.

Our youngest seed guardian is volunteering at the Whiteshill and Ruscombe Village Shop and is very keen to oversee our seeds this year, so thank you, M!
