Down to Earth are looking for someone to help us set up a new project
from July, called The Fruit Exchange. From our experience of running a fruit
project for three years, we know that there’s a lot of surplus or
unwanted fruit in gardens that could be used to encourage/support local
food outlets to use locally grown produce.
This project will signpost those with surplus or unwanted fruit from
their garden to a local food outlet that can use their fruit, and they
will be given a drinks voucher in exchange.
We need someone on a part time, self-employed basis to contact pubs,
restaurants, cafés and possible other food outlets throughout the district to ask
them if they’d like to be part of this exciting new initiative. Part of the work will be
distributing posters and flyers, so access to a vehicle is needed.
The position will be available from July to August.
In the first instance, contact Amanda on 01453 700011 or
info@downtoearthstroud.co.uk for more information.
